Ah, SBUX, you pay off yet again.  Yesterday, the paps were hanging out all day for shots of the Backstreet Boys, and Avril Lavigne & Hubby.  Somehow, someway, I am in the picture as BSB Brian Littrell leaves the store with his family.

Now THAT”S something to show the grandkids oneday!

Check er out!

I’m very excited by the upcoming Tropic Thunder.  Not only does it look like Bobby Downey Jr rocks it, but my fav Tom Cruise (Yeah, that’s right, I said it!) has a big hilarious role in it.

Am I the only one shocked that Tom towers over Ben Stiller? Those are some fabulous lifts for Tom, or Ben is teeny tiny!

Power Quote o’the Day!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?… Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory of God within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

- From Nelson Mandela’s inaugural speech (1994)

Now don’t get me wrong, I love me some David Beckham.  Next to Brendan Fraser and David Letterman (yeah, that’s right, I said it), he’s one of my top celebrity crushes.  And I can understand striking while the iron is hot and grabbing up every endorsement opportunity, but really, this quote regarding his work with Sharpie has to be the lamest justification ever:

“I have always enjoyed signing autographs for people, especially since I used to love getting my heroes’ signatures when I was younger. I love to use Sharpie markers, so it’s a natural choice for me to partner with them.”

Hun, if I saw you, I’d let you sign me with anything you had available.  And I mean anything.

OH David, skip the phoney baloney-ness and just take off your shirt before I count to free

I’ve followed Seth Godin for a few years now (and even had an email thread going with him for a day!).  His smart, no nonsense approach is always an encouraging voice when stuck in a rut.

Great post here!

My vow for this week

I love this blog. I love the idea of this blog.  I love the power of this blog.  There’s a cyberspace cowboy out there, lasso-ing people to visit my blogger ranch and the fact that my thoughts are in the Internet universe is empowering.  That being said, I’ve neglected this marvelous forum for creativity and I’d like to make it up to myself.  So for that reason, I will vow that this week I will post everyday.  7 entries until June 22.  No longer will I let my winds be stifled, for I shall sail into this mighty ocean before me and shuck the precious pearls from the oysters of opportunity.

It should be noted that I went to a bridal shower today and probably consumed a touch too much sugar in dessert form.

What a week awaits!!!

My friends showed me this video a few days ago and since then I’ve been referring many to it.  Please watch and see what the whackness of crack and Bobby Brown can do to a lost soul…

I think I’m confident enough with myself to proclaim to the world that I enjoy a reality show here and there. While I’ve avoided the tractor beam suckage of some of the more popular ones out of principle, I have been seduced by some via sheer numminess.

Thusly, you can imagine my excitement when I discovered my favourite Bachelor from seasons past was sitting on the sbux patio last week. He was the most gorgeous eye candy I could ask for whilst trying to scrub off bird poo from a chair. The necessary eye contact to break the ice did not happen, as he was engaged in conversation with another. But, ohhh, was I happy to spectate!

Doctor Doctor!

Red Sox, Lobsters, and plenty o’cream pie

I currently find myself in Boston on a fun-filled 5 day excursion.  So far, I’m impressed by this quaint city’s homey feel and down home goodness.  Observances at Day 2:

1.  Trader Joe’s, Walgreens, and Filene’s Basement: Me likey the U.S stores

2.  Running in Boston:  This is a runner’s town, where you will be passed by joggers at any given time.  I ran Boston Common today and enjoyed the gorgeousness of it all

3. Haavaad:  Much more modest a campus than I thought, where’s the pomp? where’s the circumstance? Just a bunch of kids in crimson making their way to class, while sippin on their Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffees….

4.  Lobsters: The last time I had to crack on open by hand was in Halifax back in naught 4.  Much like I imagine childbirth to be, I had forgotten the trauma of having to go through that whole process, but I reminded myself last night.  I’ll give myself another 4 years before the next Lobster experience.

Off to find some Chowdaah!
